SAN MIGUEL CHICAGO ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP TRANSITION
San Miguel School Chicago announced that President Michael Anderer-McClelland has resigned, and that in a unanimous decision, the San Miguel Board of Directors and the Mission Council of the Christian Brothers Midwest District elected current Vice President for Advancement Phillip Jiménez, as President and CEO effective July 16.
“We are grateful for Mike’s leadership over the years,” said San Miguel Chicago Board President Tom Kelly. “With an FY13 budget in place, and fiscal soundness following the restructuring and reduction of expenses by $1.6 million, Mike leaves San Miguel well poised for a vibrant future.
“San Miguel is fortunate to have Phil Jiménez, an exceptional leader, already on the executive team,” said Kelly. “His leadership in advancement contributed to a 20 percent increase in revenue, he’s a significant participant in San Miguel’s strategic plan development, and is committed to shepherding the best program outcomes in our history.”
Anderer-McClelland served San Miguel Chicago for more than 12 years. During his tenure as President, he oversaw San Miguel’s operational spin-off of a separate entity, rebuilt back office services and re-visioned the Advancement Program. Anderer-McClelland will now be assuming the position of Vice President for Mission at De Marillac Academy in San Francisco, which serves disadvantaged students in grades four through eight.
“It has been a true honor to serve San Miguel,” Anderer-McClelland said. “Together with a dedicated Board of Directors and talented faculty and staff, we made great strides toward the Lasallian Mission of providing education for young people, and especially the underserved students of Chicago.”
Jiménez joined San Miguel as Vice President for Advancement in 2010, overseeing fundraising, regulatory compliance, marketing and community relations. Prior to joining San Miguel, he served as Director of Advancement of Lutheran Child & Family Services, River Forest, IL, and previously was International Sales Manager, Ispat Inland Co., Chicago and Mexico City, Mexico.
“I’ve been privileged to contribute to San Miguel’s learning community and to really come to know our students, families, and alumni,” said Jiménez. “The experience has been very fulfilling and I’m deeply humbled to continue to serve with individuals so committed to the mission, and to values such as exemplary education, love, family and community, service and justice. I look forward to working to ensure San Miguel’s prosperous and productive future.”
