The Graduate Support Program of San Miguel seeks to give financial, academic, and spiritual support to middle school graduates as they journey through high school and enter college.

The goal of the program is 100% graduation, 100% promotion, and to maximize the students' intellectual, spiritual, and leadership potential.

The program focuses on three main areas:

Tutoring Sessions and Parental Involvement:
San Miguel offers tutoring sessions four nights a week so that San Miguel alumni of high school age can have an opportunity to do homework with their peers, as well as get individualized attention with tutors.
Tutoring sessions are strongly recommended to all students, while it may be required for students struggling with their grades.
  • Monday through Thursday from 3:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Volunteer tutors available for academic support
  • Access to computers and to the Internet

Financial Assistance:
  • San Miguel provides high school scholarships based on the families' financial condition to allow San Miguel alumni to attend private high schools.

The average San Miguel alum in private school received $2,730 per year in scholarship assistance from San Miguel. We also work with the student to find additional funding sources.

Retreats and Student Activities: San Miguel strongly believes in the value of taking students to retreats and excursions so that they may experience life outside the inner-city. The program is designed to address not only financial and academic needs, but also the individual as a whole, and to focus on spirituality, building community, and doing service.
