Current Events List

On Sunday, May 1, San Miguel Schools invited students, families and the community to the fourth annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration. This street festival featured live music, authentic fresh-made Mexican food, raffle prizes, games and activities for the whole family and took place at the Back of the Yards Campus on 48th Street between Damon and Winchester. In order to accommodate growing numbers, the celebration was extended to an all-day event, beginning at 9:00AM and ending at 6:00PM.

With featured performances by the Ballet Forklorico and the Holy Cross Marimba Ensemble, this event celebrates the cultural history of Cinco de Mayo and pays tribute to Mexico's rich traditions.

Over $10,000 was raised from Sponsors, and food, drink and raffle sales!  100% of proceeds from the event will go directly to support the scholarship fund at San Miguel Schools.
