San Miguel's 6th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration at the Gary Comer Campus!

Students from both the Back of the Yards and Gary Comer Campus celebrated this cultural holiday along with teachers, staff, and parents.  With student performances by the Drum Corps and the Praise Dancers, this event brought both campuses together for a celebration of heritage and tradition.

Speakers spoke to students about embodying the principals of Kwanzaa.  "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act but a habit," words that resonated with the students of San Miguel who are challenged every day to be better in school, at home, and in their communities.
