Access Through Advocacy: A Call to Lasallians to Promote the Rights of Children (November 2003)
This powerpoint presentation attempts to connect the Lasallian mission of education, advocacy for the rights of the child, and pubic policy and legislation as a result of the lived experience of one group of Lasallian educators and students in the Back of the Yards Campus.

Family Support in Community Context (February 2004)
By drawing on experiences at San Miguel and literature from the fields of family support and community-based initiatives, this paper aims to gain a better understanding of 1.) the relationship between family support and community-based initiatives and 2.) some of the challenges of utilizing a family support approach in a community setting.

Youth Development in Community Context (March 2004)
Student success and student failure in schools is a complicated matter. Educators continue to be confounded by the barrage of solutions proposed to increase the success of all students and to leave no child behind. This essay describes recent theoretical developments in the area of community psychology and sociology that suggest a broader, more contextual view of youth that recognizes the interconnected layers of life that impact positive and negative youth development.
