A recent San Miguel graduate speaks about his experiences with Lasallian Volunteers.
There are people in the world who are willing to help me in times of need - from school work to issues that are on my mind. These people take time out of their lives to support the people that they believe in. It is a privilege to be able to work with such individuals. They are the Lasallian Volunteers. These wonderful people who I have been lucky to meet are dedicated and hardworking. I would not be on the path that I am on now if it were not for their help.
Gordon Hannon (89-90) was my first principal who actually showed that he cared for his students. I told one of my friends that I considered him the Dumbledore in my life (for you Harry Potter fans). He is intelligent, peaceful, and most of all, loving.
Takiyah Olatuboson (00-01) or "Ms. O" as I called her, was the person who interviewed me to see if I would be accepted at San Miguel. Ms. O is funny, and she always made me smile because she would be smiling too. Ms. O is a great person and she would always be there for you to talk to her.
Jolleen Wagner (4-07) was my 'Louder Than a Bomb' coach and then my 7th grade teacher. Ms. Wagner gives off an energy that makes everyone around her stronger.
Alberto Guerrero (03-05), aka "Mr. G," was my math teacher and a very good one at that. Mr. G was a cool person. He always made someone laugh even if they were upset and didn't want to laugh. That was the type of person he was, joyful.
Kristen Cornicello (05-07) was cool; she was always the type of person you could easily connect with. Ms. C was a great friend. I was sad that she had to leave. I knew that her departure would not mean I would not see her again. Sure enough, about a few weeks after she left, I saw her again.
Joel Kreitzberg (06-08) was our 7th grade math teacher. I remember all the fun we had with him. He found a way to make math more interesting. I think everyone would say that they enjoyed him and his class.
Nathan Czaia (07-08) is a part of graduate support. He is a great person. He can really understand what each and everyone is going through and tries his best to help. On the court he has a great basketball shot, not better than mine obviously, but it is still good. Mr. C is one of the best individuals you could ever meet.
Last but not least, Ms. Annie Harala (07-08) was my language arts teacher. She is caring and loving towards all her students. She would be there to help any of us who were in need. She is the type of person that you could call up at 3 o'clock in the morning to come pick you up if something happened. Ms. Harala is a great person and most of all a great friend.
All of these people have impacted my life. They have helped when I was upset and confused. They are still available to give support to those who want it. I thank them for everything that they have done and especially for being a part of my life. Thank you Lasallian Volunteers!
